Quick Update

Okay, so my goal was to have the docs sent to be apostilled by Monday but it was actually Tuesday when I was able to send them. That means they got them today, I hope I can get them back by Friday or Saturday. The docs need to be in Russia by the first week of September if we are going to be in the first group if families to receive referrals. I'm pretty confident that they will be unless we messed up on the notarization and they weren't able to be apostilled, it's happened before. Lord willing, they'll all come back apostilled and soon!=)

I'm Back!

I actually got back Friday night but had a busy weekend and it's not over yet! We are waiting on our home study agency to send us back the docs that needed updating and then I'll be able to send them off to be apostilled. There are many expired docs that we are currently updating but only 3 that will keep us from getting our referrals. Please keep praying that we'll make the deadline (beginning of Sept.). Chris did a great job getting the docs together. I knew he could do it!=)
I had a great time at my sister's. My niece is the cutest little 1 year old I've ever seen but I'm biased so I'll let you decide.

Update!

Okay, I'm still on vacation at my sister's in Charleston. While traveling here I checked my phone messages and found that my FC called with some important info. There are some docs in my dossier that have expired and I was aware of it but not in a big hurry to get them done right away since things were moving so slow. Evidently the docs need to be re-done (notarized and apostilled) and sent to our agency by the beginning of September if we want to be in the first group of families to receive referrals. I also found out that we need to be re-registered in Kras and we need the expired docs done and sent before that can happen. So you can only imagine how I'm freaking out right now!!! My precious husband, who has not done any of the document collecting, notarizing or apostilling, is now scrambling at home to get these docs done. I'm trying to tell him how to do it over the phone, not an easy task! Please pray for us that we will be able to get all of this paperwork done and submitted before the deadline so we can get our referrals. Pray for my sweet hubby too that he'll be able to get all of the docs together. I'll be home on Friday, I'm hoping that everything can be sent to be apostilled by Monday.

The longest 2 weeks ever!

Our agency said that once we received our accreditation it would be about 2 weeks until referrals would come. It's been 4 weeks now and counting! I think I heard that Russia takes the month of August off for a holiday, is this true? I mean really, does anyone ever work over there at all? It seems like there's always some holiday or reason not to work going on over there. It's so frustrating as I'm sure my fellow adoption blog buddies know. How are all of you doing? Anyone want to join me in another day of prayer?
I'm leaving to visit my sister and my niece tomorrow. It's my niece's 1st birthday on the 22nd. I haven't seen her since she was born! I'm really looking forward to spending time with my family, my mom and step-dad will be there too. I'll tell you about it when I get back on Friday. Hopefully we'll get some good news this week from our agency!

We're Back!

We just got back a few hours ago from our family vacation. We had a great time fishing, swimming, relaxing and hanging out together. You can see some pics on Chris' blog if your interested.
I have to admit I was a little bummed that we didn't get a call saying we had referrals but I've learned to get over those disappointments pretty quickly. There have been quite a few of them since we started this process, you know.=)
I had a lovely surprise waiting for me on my doorstep when I got home from my SBP! A sweet card, a cute box and inside the box was a basket of relaxing body "lotions & potions", as I like to call them, from The Bath & Body Works. How very thoughtful SBP! I sure do need to bring some serenity into my world. I need to appreciate it now while I can because serenity doesn't exist when you have small children, right?=) Thank you for your kindness and encouragement.
I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs. I'm praying that big things happen for all of us soon!

On Vacation

Our family is on vacation this week at Lake Weir in up-state Florida. We're having a great time relaxing, swimming and playing games. Chris and I are still anxiously awaiting "the call" telling us we have new referrals. Lord willing, it'll come soon.
My sister-in-law, Bethany, is posting vacation updates on her blog each day, so if your interested please check it out. Today's story is great!! I think she's a very creative writer. I'll catch up with you all when I get back.
