September 30th we had a HUGE yard sale to raise money for our adoption. Chris' sister and Mom headed up the event. They got their small group involved at their church and many families donated various things. It was amazing! I have never seen so much stuff in all my life. My sister-in-law's garage was filled with stuff so we had to store things in her living room and the neighbor's garage friday night. It was all really nice stuff. We were up until 1 am pricing and sorting and then got up at 4:30 am to get it all set up for the day. There were clothes, toys, furniture, bedding and even my husband's baseball card collection! It was a big sacrifice for him to give them up and I was really proud of him. He made the biggest sale of the day when a collector came and bought all of the cards for $250! People kept coming and buying from 6:45 to 12:30.
I was so proud of Bethany (Chris' sister) and Joyce (his mom), they really did an incredible job raising money for our adoption. They stuck to their guns and didn't let people talk them down in prices. Bethany always got people to give what we were asking once they heard her plea to bring her niece and nephew home from Russia. " We need to bring our babies home from Russia" she would say and " Don't you want to help us?" They sure did! We made almost $1,400 that day. I am so humbled by everyone's generous donations and hard work that went in to our fundraiser. Thank you all so much! All blessings and honor and glory belong to our Lord Jesus Christ for continuing to provide for our adoption.
