Still Here

It's been a little over a week since the amazing reaccreditation news was given. Not much has happened since that with us. We did get an e-mail from our family coordinator stating that they needed out home study agency to fill out a form and send it to our agency before we could get referrals. I hope they can complete it and return it to our agency very quickly. I am really hoping that we'll get a phone call with referrals next week. We'll be on a little family vacation then so hopefully we can find a place with wi-fi.

It's Official!

Here's the official statement from our agency:

Dear Russia families,

It is with great joy that I share with you that America World's partner agency in Russia has received reaccreditation! They will be issued the official license tommorrow. We are praising God for this news after such a long and difficult wait. We expect that it may take a couple weeks before all the official documentation is completed in order for all processes to be fullly functioning such as dossier submission, referrals, and receipt of court dates. We will keep you updated as we have news. Thank you for your patience over the past 14 months as we have awaited reaccreditation.

Woo Hoo again and again!!! It's really happening! Praise the LORD!

More good news from our agency....

"On July 6, 2007 the first group of 12 agencies was accredited in Russia, 7 of which were US adoption agencies. America World's partner agency is in the second group of agencies at the Ministry of Education. The first group of agencies took approximately 3 weeks at the Ministry of Education prior to being granted reaccreditation. AWAA's partner agency's last documents were submitted to the Ministry of Education on July 3. If the same timeframe holds true for the second group of agencies as the first, it is possible that reaccreditation could be given in approximately two weeks. Please recall that once reaccreditation is granted, it may take a few weeks to receive the appropriate paperwork and accredit all staff in the regions which is necessary before we are fully functional again. The facilitator staff in the regions has started informing the regional governments regarding expected reaccreditation in order to be prepared to work as soon as possible. We will continue to keep you updated as information becomes available".

Pretty exciting!! Finally there's light at the end of the tunnel!!

Update

Finally, some encouraging news from our agency! Here's what was sent to us via e-mail:

Dear Russia Families,

America World today received word from Dr. D that America World's partner agency in Russia has received approval from all necessary government institutions (the various ministries) and all of these approvals are currently at the Ministry of Education. We are now waiting for reaccreditation by the Ministry of Education. The exact timeframe for the Ministry of Education to grant reaccreditation remains uncertain, however the timeframe being suggested is a few weeks. Once reaccreditation is granted it may take a couple weeks for the official paperwork to be completed and work begun.

America World's partner agency is currently in the second set of 10 agencies that have received approval from the various ministries and are awaiting reaccreditation at the Ministry of Education. The reason for our current positioning appears to be missing post placement reports from previous families working with our partner agency.

America World is very excited at the continued progress occurring in the reaccreditation process. We do however remain cautious regarding timeframes as we have seen timeframes lengthen unexpectedly in the past. We will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available.

Please continue to pray for this process, the officials at the Ministry of Education, and the many children in orphanages who are affected by this process. America World continues to pray for your family through this difficult waiting process.

All of you who are adopting, do your post-placements!!!!! Sheesh!

Please Help

The adoption journey has ended for some bloggy friends of ours. Please send support to Joe & Dawn. They were sadly unable to adopt their sons from Kazakhstan. They are asking that everyone who is willing e-mail OrsonĀ and ask him to refund them all of the money they spent trying to adopt their boys. Visit their blog for more info. Please lift them up in prayer as well.

Not too addicted

Here's my results. I admit, I'm not that dedicated to blogging. I guess it's because there's nothing adoption related to blog about. I do sometimes blog about other stuff but I guess I've been discouraged lately. I do however read all of yours, almost daily.
